Insurance Claim Support
Insurance involvement is common after property damage, but every claim and policy is different. Serve Xpert provides professional restoration services supported by organized documentation, clear records, and factual communication.
Serve Xpert remains independent from insurance carriers and focused on the property owner’s needs, the written scope of work, and the documented conditions at the property.
Insurance Claim Support Overview
Property damage can create immediate service needs and insurance-related questions at the same time.
Serve Xpert helps by documenting observed conditions, preparing clear estimates, performing authorized restoration or remediation work, and providing organized records for customer, insurance, real estate, or property management files.
Our role is to stabilize affected areas, perform the work being authorized, document the project, and communicate factual scope-related information when authorized by the property owner.
Serve Xpert does not approve, deny, interpret, or control insurance coverage.
How Insurance-Related Restoration Typically Begins
Insurance-related restoration may begin in different ways depending on the situation.
Some customers contact their insurance carrier first. Others call Serve Xpert immediately because the property has active water damage, smoke residue, mold concerns, sewage, storm intrusion, biohazard conditions, odors, or other urgent property damage.
Both situations are common. Early mitigation may help reduce secondary damage, protect affected areas, and document conditions before they change.
Restoration decisions are based on observed site conditions, safety needs, access, affected materials, contamination concerns, moisture conditions, odor conditions, and written scope of work.
What Customers Should Do First
If the property has active damage, the first priority is protecting people, limiting access to unsafe areas, and getting the right response started.
Customers should consider these first steps:
-
Call for emergency service if water, sewage, smoke, storm intrusion, odor, or contamination is active or spreading
-
Stop the source of water if it can be done safely
-
Avoid areas with standing water, electrical concerns, sagging ceilings, sewage, mold disturbance, smoke residue, or biohazard conditions
-
Keep children, pets, employees, tenants, customers, and occupants away from affected areas when safety concerns are present
-
Do not disturb visible mold, sewage, biological contamination, soot, or heavily contaminated materials
-
Take photos or videos if the area can be accessed safely
-
Save insurance policy information, claim numbers, adjuster contact information, photos, receipts, repair records, and property records
-
Contact Serve Xpert for assessment, mitigation, remediation, cleanup, drying, odor control, or documentation support
For active emergencies, calling directly is faster than submitting a form.

BILLING & PAYMENT CONSIDERATIONS
Billing procedures vary depending on the insurance policy, carrier process, payment method, project type, and signed agreement.
In some situations, payment may be issued directly to Serve Xpert. In other situations, the property owner may be responsible for payment and may seek reimbursement from the insurance carrier.
Deductibles, depreciation, uncovered services, policy limits, and non-covered items are determined by the insurance policy and carrier review.
The customer remains responsible for payment according to the approved estimate, signed agreement, invoice, and financing terms when applicable.
EMERGENCY SERVICES & TIME-SENSITIVE WORK
Property damage conditions can worsen when water, moisture, smoke residue, soot, sewage, biohazard contamination, storm intrusion, odors, or mold conditions are not addressed quickly.
Emergency mitigation or stabilization may be needed before insurance determinations are finalized.
Authorization is required before work begins regardless of insurance involvement, claim status, or carrier response time.
Supplements, Changes & Additional Work
Property damage conditions can change after the first inspection or estimate. Hidden damage, additional affected areas, carrier requests, customer requests, changed site conditions, access issues, moisture migration, contamination spread, or newly discovered materials may require revised documentation or additional work.
Additional work may require:
-
Updated site review
-
Revised estimate
-
Revised written scope
-
Additional authorization
-
Change order
-
Additional payment or financing approval
-
Schedule adjustment
-
Additional documentation
Serve Xpert only performs work that has been authorized through the proper estimate, agreement, change order, or written approval process.
